I'm pretty sure it has been discussed previously on the forum, but I can't remember what was said. At the moment it's telling me that there are 86 of them. Perhaps there's some bug in the system or some other explanation because I find it very hard to believe that there could be that many people watching right now.

I don't know what's hard to believe about that, aren't there like 8 billion people in the world? I'm not sure if 86 of them spending saturday morning visiting a forum dedicated to a show that's aired in multiple countries and has been running for 30 years is a huge stretch?

Because if there were that many non-members watching, I'd imagine that we'd have a lot more newbies on the forum than we're getting at present.

I do think at least some are real people, maybe they're curious or scared to sign up, maybe we need a recruitment campaign:lol:

No I don't believe that to be the case at all, sorry. People just read forums they're interested in. Just read. Only idiots like you and me sign up to the stupid things.

It is interesting to think that there could be dozens of non-members out there reading our posts. I feel like I'm in a version if Big Brother.

Maybe they are members who don't bother signing in and just read what is going on, like me. The only time I sign in is to comment - which as you can see isn't that often.

Nah, you really don't. You and the other regulars are doing a good enough job on here without me joining in.

The problem is that as there isn't a regular flow of new Red Dwarf episodes/news etc getting new people is going to be difficult. Then, when people do read the forum, and possibly join, they are scared off by the in fighting that goes on around here. Now, it is possible that some of this is fake/tongue in cheek, but new members do not know this and think it isn't worth the bother.

There is probably a lot more I could say, but I am now going to eat my Subway Oreo cupcake/muffin.

How could you choose a Subway Oreo cupcake/muffin over interacting with us? Tell us this other stuff you wanted to say. Ant E in particular is interested in reading it.
